Store prices and release dates for models that are derived from LG G6 in South Korea have been confirmed.

LG Electronics and 3 South Korean mobile network providers chose store prices of LG G6 Plus and LG G6 with 32GB memory to be $841 (957,000 KRW) and $720 (819,500 KRW) respectively. Their release dates will be the 30th of this month.

Although they were planning to have store prices of derived models either $87.9 (10,000 KRW) more expensive or cheaper depending on memories, they modified their plans towards lowering financial burden for consumers.

LG G6 Plus, which has double the memory of LG G6 64GB ($791 (899,800 KRW)), is $50.27 (57,200 KRW) more expensive than LG G6 64GB while LG G6 32GB is $70.57 (80,300 KRW) cheaper than LG G6 64GB.

Reason why LG Electronics lowered cost of LG G6 Plus that has better specifications is because it wants to provide consumers, who purchase LG Electronics’ premium Smartphones, with ‘wireless charging’ function and ‘bigger memory’ that weren’t available to them previously. LG Electronics is also going to provide B&O Play bundle earphone, which provides rich sound quality, separately.

LG Electronics thought about release dates very carefully and for long time and this is a circumstantial evidence that release of derived models from LG ^ are very important to its Smartphone business.

It is confirmed that LG Electronics changed release dates of these derived models 3 or more times. Initially it changed the date from the 27th to the 3rd of July. However due to many potential demands and smooth supply of supplies, it decided the 30th, which is earlier than its initial plan, to be the release date for these derived models.

South Korea will be the first country where LG G6 Plus and LG G6 32GB will be released first. Starting with South Korea, LG Electronics is planning to release them sequentially in foreign markets such as North America.

“Both LG Electronics and South Korean mobile network providers have high expectations towards popularity of these derived models.” said a representative for a mobile network provider. “These models will satisfy demands from consumers as their prices are lower than expectations even though they are applied with new colors and functions as well as new memory capacity.”

These models will also support LG Pay. LG Electronics’ strategy to expand LG Pay is expected to gain momentum through these models.
