A Chinese Smartphone manufacturer called MEIZU is going to establish its branch in South Korea.
It is predicted that it will focus on South Korean markets for low and middle-priced Smartphones.
According to an industry on the 28th, MEIZU is currently preparing to establish a South Korean branch.
“MEIZU has secured an office in Yeooui-do to establish a South Korean branch.” said a representative for an industry. “Its plan is to finish registering its branch within a week or two.”
MEIZU is planning to sell its products at markets and have them activated at mobile network providers because its level of awareness is not clear to sell its products through mobile network providers like Huawei.
However MEIZU has been preparing to enter South Korean markets since early this year.
“Representatives from ../MEIZU_rsquo.css;s marketing team and headquarters had investigated South Korea’s Smartphone markets.” said a representative of a company that imports ../MEIZU_rsquo.css;s supplemental battery. “A reason why MEIZU first had distributed its supplemental batteries is because it wants to increase its level of awareness.”
Other than its headquarters that is located in Zhuhai, MEIZU also has branches in Hong Kong, Brunei, Cambodia, and Myanmar. It also entered Indian markets in last year.
MEIZU has grown by 11% during 3rd quarter of this year compared to 3rd quarter of last year. Its market shares in global Smartphone markets (by end of 1st quarter of 2016) and Chinese markets (by end of 2015) are 1% and 6% respectively.
MEIZU has its own OS (Operating System) like Xiaomi. Based on Android OS, ../MEIZU_rsquo.css;s ‘Flyme’ has its UI (User Interface) and UX (User Experience) revised.
When MEIZU establishes its branch in South Korea, there will be 3 Chinese Smartphone manufacturers that have entered South Korean Smartphone markets so far and they are Huawei, LENOVO, and MEIZU.
MEIZU is going to announce its premium model called ‘MEIZU X’ that is equipped with MediaTek’s Helio X30 Processor and a dual-camera on the 30th (in China time).
Regarding a establishment of South Korean branch, a representative from ../MEIZU_rsquo.css;s headquarters responded by saying that MEIZU cannot discuss any detailed information.
